By Pastor John Hagee
Isaiah 40:1

Pastor Hagee's Teachings

Christians United for Israel hosted three Nights to Honor Israel in Burlington, Vermont, Little Rock, Arkansas and San Diego, California this past weekend.
It is good to see the unity in the faith and the fulfilling of the commandment to;
Comfort, comfort my people,
says your God. Isaiah 40:1

I pray blessings on every Regional, State and City Director and every volunteer involved in all the Nights to Honor Israel around the nation. May the Lord favor be upon you and all you love.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Christians United for Israel has hired Pastor Victor Styrsky to serve as our Eastern Regional Coordinator.  Most of us in the CUFI family have already had the opportunity to know and love Victor.  Victor Styrsky was one of the first pastors to join CUFI, and he has served as our California State Director from our earliest months.  Victor's great love for Israel and the Jewish people has made him a favorite speaker at pro-Israel events, both Christian and Jewish.  We know Victor will be an enormous asset to our efforts in the East.  Feel free to welcome Victor to our staff and to invite him to your churches and communities in the eastern United States (Regions 6, 10, 11, and 12).  Victor can be reached at

Those who have come to know and love our current Eastern Regional Coordinator, Andrew Summey, need not fret.  Andrew is staying on with CUFI, and will now be working full time to build CUFI on Campus, our program for college students.  When we hired Andrew to run our campus program, we asked him to take on the East Coast position on a temporary basis.  Now, by hiring Victor, we are finally able to keep our promise to Andrew that he could focus on his great passion:  pro-Israel activism on our campuses.  With our colege program growing so quickly, this change has not come a moment too soon.  Please continue to contact Andrew Summey at with any questions about or suggestions for CUFI on campus.

Night to Honor IsraelBurlington, VT- September 10, 2009
More than 500 attending a festive and moving first ever Night to Honor Israel in Burlington, VT last Thursday.   Bishop Richard Callahan, CUFI State Director (VT), opened the evening which was followed by an invocation by Rabbi Yitzchok Raskin (Chabad Jewish Community Center), wonderful music and insightful speakers emphasizing the important and vital relationship between Jews and Christians working together to support Israel.

Speakers included Pastor Thomas Peetz (CUFI Region 11 Director), Dr. Charles Jacobs (Founder of The David Project), Rony Yedidia (Deputy Consul General for Israel), and the keynote of the evening - CUFI's Executive Director, David Brog. A special offering was taken for Magen David Adom in Israel. The passion and commitment of these pro-Israel advocates would be hard to match. Much appreciation to Mr. Richard Trudell and the Christian Action Ministry of VT for the time and commitment to making this event an astounding success.

San Diego, CA - September 13, 2009
San Diego celebrated it's second Night To Honor Israel last evening with an audience of over 900 enthusiastic attendees. A show of hands indicated the Christian and Jewish communities were represented by nearly equal numbers. The gala event included a special "Watchman on the Wall" award to CA State Assemblyman Joel Anderson, who spearheaded California's Iran Divestman initiative. Israel Deputy Consul Gil Artzyeli brought greetings from Israel, and a number of IDF soldiers who were able to attend were welcomed with a roaring standing ovation. Dennis Prager offered a Keynote address that drew laughter, tears and frequent applause.

Several Christian and Jewish religious and community leaders participated in the outstanding event, which was coordinated by Pastors Greg and Michelle Stephens, Southern California Directors for CUFI and Senior Pastors of the Father's House Church in San Diego.

Headlines from the Middle EastU.S. to Accept Iran's Proposal to Hold Face-to-Face Talks
The Obama administration said Friday that the U.S. would accept Iran's offer to meet, fulfilling President Obama's pledge to hold unconditional talks despite the Iranian government's insistence that it would not negotiate over the future of its nuclear program. At the same time, administration officials said their expectations were extremely low. They also said their willingness to proceed was based in part on a recognition that some form of talks had to take place before the U.S. could make a case for imposing far stronger sanctions on Iran. Meridor: No More Time to Waste on Iran
Israeli Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy Dan Meridor said Saturday in an interview about Iran's development of nuclear weapons: "The time is now. There is no more time to waste, and that's not only the Israeli perspective....We are in a way fortunate that this is not only Israel's problem....The fact is that the alarm in the Arab world is related to the fear that Iran may have it (nuclear weapons)." "If there is no perception of a concerted effort, the other countries who are concerned with the possibility of a nuclear Iran could develop their own in the meantime....Then you will find a different world, one harder for a superpower to manage."  (Reuters, September 12, 2009)   To read the entire article click here.

Rockets Fired from Lebanon Hit Israel
At least two rockets fired from southern Lebanon hit open areas near the northern Israeli town of Nahariya on Friday, and Israel returned fire. Israeli military officials said they held the Lebanese government and its army responsible for preventing such attacks. In Washington, Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P. J. Crowley said the episode, along with an explosion at a Hizbullah weapons depot in July, highlights the urgent need to bring arms in Lebanon under control of the state.
