Jay R. Bailey
Solid Rock Church

Jay currently serves as the Lead pastor of Solid Rock Church a fast growing and dynamic church in Midland, Georgia where he has been since July 2003.

Jay was born in Kingston, Jamaica where he grew up in the Church of England. At the age of fourteen, his family moved back to Toronto, Canada. As a teenager, Jay committed his life to becoming a professional tennis player. It was for this reason that he moved to the United States to play tennis for the University of Georgia. In his freshman year (1982) he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Shortly after his conversion, he began feeling the call of God into full time ministry. This call became abundantly clear to him on May 5, 1984 when the Lord spoke to his heart in an undeniable way confirming the will of God for him to go into full-time pastoral ministry. This was the start of an exciting adventure as he began following the Lord.

Early in his ministry, Pastor Bailey served two and half years as youth pastor. He then pastored Victory Christian Center in Macon, Georgia for twelve and half years. Pastor Bailey received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia and a master of divinity degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He has been integrally involved in his community by serving as a police chaplain as well as serving on other Boards and committees within the community. For the past four years, he has been the team pastor for the Columbus Cottonmouths, a professional ice hockey team in Columbus. GA. He is currently serving as a Presbyter for the Georgia District Council of the Assemblies of God as well as serving on the Board of John Kilpatrick Ministries. Pastor Jay is an international speaker having spoken in Canada, India, Eastern Europe, Albania, Greece, Africa, Latin America, the Kingdom of Tonga and the Caribbean Islands over the last several years.

His greatest passion is for his life to count for the glory of God and to see the fullness of Pentecost released among the people of God and for the Kingdom of God to be advanced in this world through the ministries of a strong and dynamic local church. “We are living in some very exciting times, and as result, people’s hearts are quaking for the presence and power of Pentecost.”

Jay and his wife, Danna, have been happily married for twenty three years and together they have five wonderful children: two boys and three girls.
